Feb 12th and 13th 2011
Saturday and Sundays are usually my best days at the gym. I have more time to work and usually can accomplish quite a bit. But same as during the week, my body has shut down on me. I went over to Aaron’s Friday night and was toast. I was pale as could be, not eating, and still so tired.
I’ve been lacking on my double unders so today was to get back on track and work my way back up.
Double Unders – 20 unbroken – stopped after 10 failed attempts
Pull Up progressions 10×5 with green band – 5-5-5-4-5-4-3 – felt really weak
Called it quits there, my body was done. On a good note though, Kendyl rocked a workout using a 2pood (70#) kettlebell!
Sunday my body was feeling better as I got to the gym, so I put all my focus into cleans. I started low and worked my way up slowly, my goal for the day was to PR at 100#. Maybe unrealistic considering that lack of healthy body, but I tend to be like that. My original PR is 95#
65#x5, 85#x5, 95#x5 (was shocked those were kind of easy), 96#x2, 97#x2
I PR’d at 97#, which I should be happy with but am not yet. I wanted the 100# really bad. I know I need to focus on getting my elbows up high and fast. I think next time I work on them I just need to fully break it down and work on front squats as well.
Now I just need to decide on which program to follow, I may switch to Crossfit Football, but I still want to work on strengths. I want all my lifts to be solid. I need the clean to be part of the 100# club and get my snatch (55#) and my press (60#) right up there too.
